What you will quickly come to find out is we, here at Steel City Vintage, LOVE vintage Omega. Its our passion. In terms of history, Omegas story can rival any other swiss brand in the watch industry. They have created watches with some of the most iconic designs and there movements are no slouches either.. just ask Patek or Vacheron. 

This particular example, a reference 2848, is exactly what we love about vintage Omega. It's got that 50's charm with its sub-second dial, big, beefy lugs, and a beautiful patinated dial. It's got bigger wrist presence than you'd expect from a 34mm case and pairs wonderfully with a dark brown strap.

Omega Seamaster 

REFERENCE: 2848

CASE: The 34mm steel case is very strong. The original chamfers on all 4 lugs is present and can be appreciated. The case is completed by the original, correct, four leaf clover crown. The crystal has been replaced some time in the past. 

DIAL:  The original dial has developed a fairly uniform patina. What started out as a white dial when this watch was born has now aged to take on a champagne color with heavier tobacco brown patina between the 9 and 12 o'clock hour markers. The dial sports dagger hour markers and dauphine hands with matching patina. 

MOVEMENT:  Omega caliber 490. First introduced in 1956 this movement boasts 46h power reserve, 19800bph with 17 jewels.  The watch winds, sets and runs. It is keeping good time. Service history is unknown. 

BRACELET:  Comes on genuine leather strap. (Not the one pictured.)

Accessories: Aftermarket generic vintage styled omega buckle.
