Philippe Watch was founded by Swiss-Italian Francois Philippe and Neapolitan Fillipe Giardiello. As the dial on this example suggests, the original factory was located in La-Chaux-de-Fonds. The name of the brand changed in the year 1947 after an agreement was struck with, you guessed it, Patek Philippe.  
     This example features the famed caliber Valjoux 22. The Valjoux 22 was the predecessor to the more famous calibers including the Valjoux 71 and 72 - think Rolex Daytona. The cal. 22 was originally designed for pocket watches which is important to consider as it lends itself to being encased by larger cases especially considering its contemporaries. Not to be completely outdone by its successors the cal. 22 was also used in famous watches itself including the Vacheron 4072 and Rolex 2508.

DIAL: The silver dial is in good shape. The dial relatively clean save for some imperfections at the 3 o'clock subdial. The dial features gold colored applied baton hour markers with Arabic style numerals at 12 and 6 o'clock. It features matching colored dauphine hands and a red chronograph hand. 

CASE:  37.5mm x 45.2mm stainless steel back. The case presents with light wear and is in good shape. 

MOVEMENT:  Valjoux 22 mechanically wound chronograph movement has just returned from service and comes with a one year warranty from 4/11/2023. 

BRACELET: Comes on the pictured genuine leather anti-allergic strap. 

ACCESSORIES: Comes with original box. Also comes with itemized invoice for recent service that was completed and the one year warranty totaling $400.
