Takamine Guitars is pleased to announce the release of the LTD2024 Limited Edition model, already referred to by many as the “Solar System Limited Edition”. 2024 is a leap year, the quadrennial event of re-calibrating our drifting human calendar to the solar system and the inspiration for the LTD2024. With each of the eight planets delicately positioned on the ebony fretboard, our Earth clearly distinguished by its distinct orbit around the Sun, the LTD2024 encourages the contemplation of our planet’s magnificent journey through space with every note played. Central to the design is the Sun, stylistically portrayed at the 12th fret as a swirling symbol of lifegiving energy projecting pale hues across the upper bout and lower headstock of the guitar, renewing the term ‘sunburst’ to its truest form.

Hand-crafted at the Sakashita factory in the foothills of the Japanese Alps, known for centuries as the source of highly detailed, handcrafted woodwork, the LTD2014 boasts an NEX cutaway body of rosewood back and sides and a solid spruce top with bracing and tone bars hand-selected and tuned by Takamine master craftsmen, Tohru Hirokawa. A black carbon saddle not only transfers sound in a superior fashion, but also fits nicely into the deep-space motif.

To ensure the naturally warm and balanced tones of this finely tuned instrument are faithfully projected on stage, the recently released CTF-2N preamp, a celebrated throwback to the FET technology of the famed "Brownie" preamp, was selected. The very natural-sounding CTF-2N preamp in tandem with Takamine’s legendary Palathetic pickup, makes the LTD2024 one of the most sonically honest acoustic-electric guitars ever created.

Thoughtfully made with Takamine's renowned attention to detail, the LTD2024 boasts a NEX cutaway body, hand-selected bracing, a black carbon saddle for superior sound transfer, and is equipped with the state-of-the-art CTF-2N preamp for exceptional amplified tones.
